salmon sashimi

i had to back track to all my guilty pleasures and am a little surprised that i forgot to mention this sooner…

i love sushi. better yet, i love sashmi. and even better, i loooooove salmon sashimi.

i just had eight slices for lunch and it was fabulous! the meat has a natural sweetness and is smooth like butter.

  1. i've heard also that it's really fresh in vancouver. i mean, we have a lot of sushi joints in toronto but if you want really fresh ingredients, you have to pay a hefty price. there's one place where the chef gets his ingredients shipped in fresh, daily – but you're looking at paying $150-200 per couple. his creations are very top-notch, though. he's quite famous – from and trained in japan under top sushi chefs.

  2. if you ever get a chance to try it (at a good location with fresh ingredients) you should. i love cooked salmon but raw salmon tastes sweeter! it's heaven. πŸ™‚
