ada and hoa had their duo-birthday party gathering this weekend. which, really, was mainly a good excuse to get together for food and drinks.
a bonus – rita and harry were here from the states!
the dinner theme was to make our own pizza. which wasn't just a lot of fun, but ended up being incredibly yummy! ada and hoa had all the ingredients prepared. and while it was our own pizza creation of how we wanted to put together, we still gave a huge compliments to how the ingredients were prepared. how hard is it to make a delicious pizza with the ingredients such as:
- goat cheese
- tomato sauce
- pesto sauce
- italian sausage
- grilled red pepper
- grilled eggplant
- grilled portobello mushrooms
- grilled zuchinni
and on top of a sesame coated flat bread!
we gathered around their huge kitchen, island table, chatting happily away with making our pizza (and downing some wine or beer). then, after what seemed like a adult version of a kid's pizza-making party, we gathered around their large dining room table (which was next to the huge, bay windows – what must have it been like to those passing by, looking in?) and were served a warm salad.
man – how do they do it? whatever fun element they may add in, it still is pulled off with a touch of elegance. honestly – i just love being over there. even with the kids off to the side, playing or watching sesame street or dora together, i'm always feeling so pampered and relaxed there.
well, the three glasses of wine before dinner also helped the relaxation but still… one still has to be in the right setting to fully enjoy the wine, right?
oh yeah, and on top of that, on the way out, i once again, ran into the past 'designer guys'! they were getting out of the cab around midnight or so, heading up to their penthouse of where ada and hoa lived.
i smiled at chris (left). it's hard not too. i've now bumped into him a couple of times going in and out of the building. the man is so friendly and cheerful that it's hard not to reciprocate a smile. didn't make eye-contact with steve though. in fact, he was still half in the cab when we passed.
